After reading in a couple of different sources that CZ was planning on reducing their line of older guns, I decided to get the 75BD. In the past, I missed getting a gun from a maker for this very same reason. I understand, time marches on and companies look to bring new models to market to continue to draw interest and increase sales.
I started my love of CZ handguns decades ago when I had the "luck" of finding a CZ 75 pre-B, in all the original packing in a pawn shop. That gun was collectable so a shooter it was not going to be. I have and have had other CZ handguns. I love them. I just wanted to have a decocking model vs the thumb safety only model. I am getting older and a decocker is about as good as it gets when the arthritis is making dealing with a hammer difficult. When the P01 came out, I carried that gun for a long time. It is fantastic and I already knew the regular 75 guns were great.
I have had it a few days and do intend to shoot it. My schedule has precluded any range time. I will take care of that soon. CZ pistols never have disappointed me at all. I am particularly impressed with the Shadow 2. I never had the BD model, so I got one before they quit making them.
